Terrell Owens hasn't played a game since tearing his ACL this past off-season. And despite holding a workout for NFL teams over a month ago (no teams actually showed up), he remains unsigned.
But according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, that could change soon. Schefter said an unidentified team is "very interested" in signing Owens. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk speculates that the New England Patriots could be the team eyeing Owens.
A source told Florio that the team is from the AFC. We can also narrow it down to teams that are in playoff contention. That eliminates 21 of the 32 teams. The Patriots are also a team that has a history of taking chances on players deemed "cancers." And as Florio points out, the Pats have another troublemaker wide receiver in Chad Ochocinco who has struggled to fit in this season.
Considering that, it is not hard to imagine the Patriots dumping Ochocinco and signing Owens.
